Hi I’m Chris. I appreciate you checking out my blog. So, a bit about me. Well, I live with my wonderful wife on Cape Cod.
I’m 50 and have spent 25 years working in corporate finance at large and small companies with the last seven years as CFO for a venture-backed software company. The work is interesting, but I guess I’ve always just been drawn to being outside.

About five years ago I became interested in thru-hiking the A.T. I’ve read plenty of books, listened to hundreds of hours of podcasts, and watched countless YouTube videos about the A.T. and my passion for doing this has just gotten stronger. Back in late summer of 2018, the stars started to align, opening up a window of opportunity to thru-hike in 2019.
I was fortunate enough to hike with my good friend Pete (aka…Stretch). Our 2019 hike brought us from Springer Mountain up to Hot Springs, NC where we decided to end our thru-hike. Six months away from home was a bit too much for the two of us.
So, we decided to become section hikers, hiking one section each year, picking up exactly where we left off the previous year.
